All rooms are ensuite and have well equipped kitchenettes for cooking meals, or for a hassle-free option, there’s a Bar & Grill next door, or Pak’nSave and McDonalds, both a 2-minute stroll away

Our most cost-effective accommodation on a per person basis, our 4-bedroom apartment can sleep nine guests in beds and comes with a full kitchen, oven and dishwasher

We host groups for weddings, family events, funerals – and often over Christmas too. We have accessible rooms with wet floor bathrooms to cater for any elderly or mobility impaired relatives

Group Accommodation Room Configuration
The 4-bedroom apartment is 183 m2 – it’s a big bit of real estate – and all four bedrooms have their own ensuite. Yay, no sharing of bathrooms. There is also a separate toilet downstairs, and the lounge / living area is big enough to allow guests in the other rooms to mingle for pre-dinner drinks or meetings etc.
Standard bedding configuration for the 4-bedroom apartment is:
- Downstairs 1 – king bed
- Downstairs 2 – king bed
- Upstairs 3 – king bed and single bed
- Upstairs 4 – two single beds
All the king beds can be split into 2 singles, allowing say, 9 single guests to sleep in individual beds.
To add other rooms, we have a range of accessible, studio, one- and two-bedroom motel rooms. All our group accommodation is double glazed, sound proofed, has air conditioning units, and is modern, comfortable and well-furnished. But don’t take our word for it! We have a Qualmark 5 star gold rating for sustainable tourism.
"Lots of space - more than a normal motel"
We stayed for one night in the large room unit. We were able to sleep 2 couples and 3 singles in four rooms, each with an ensuite. The unit was very clean and well appointed. Furnishings were modern and comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us. We would definitely stay here again.

"Exceptional Disability facilities and brilliant customer service"
We stayed at Riverstone for a family wedding with a family member who has a disability. We arrived with our own electric bed. Charlotte and Mike were absolutely outstanding. They happily moved the usual bed to allow us to use ours, which enabled my mother in law to attend her sons wedding, as previously she had not spent a night away from her own home in 5 years. The wifi was fast and limitless which was a bonus to keep the kids happy.

"Ideal for sports team"
For our travelling sports team, there is nowhere we have ever found more suitable or enjoyable to stay than the Riverstone Motel in Rangiora. The cooperation to house our diverse needs and the warmness of the welcome from Charlotte and Mike are exceptional which, along with the adjacent supermarket and bar/restaurant, makes it an easy decision of where to book when visiting the North Canterbury area.

"Great service"
Absolutely fabulous motel the managers are lovely and make you feel very welcome. This motel was awesome one of the best we have stayed in. The rooms are very spacious, the beds comfortable. We were a family of 12 and the spacious 4 bedroom apartment was perfect for us.
